Exploration and Production in India: A Reference Book
2009
The
“Oil & Gas Exploration and Production in India – A Reference Book 2009”
attempts to present oil and natural gas scenario in India tracing the
historical background, discussing the present status of upstream sector
and forecasting emerging trends to facilitate exploration ventures in
the country.
During the last six decades of
independence, Indian petroleum Industry has made giant strides. A
cursory look at the pace of growth of Indian oil industry makes an
impressive reading. From a mere 30,000 tons per year of oil production
from Digboi Field of Assam in 1960s, India today produces 68 MMTOE. A
total of 190 discoveries have been made, of which 29 discoveries are
from Pre-NELP areas, 57 from NELP blocks and 94 from NOC operated areas,
including two Giant fields one from the Deep waters of Krishna-Godavari
Basin and other from the onland area of Rajasthan Basin.
The book covers a wide spectrum of
subjects in the activity chain starting from the understanding of
geology and hydrocarbon potential of our sedimentary basins to
production of oil and gas. It includes useful chapters on Government
Policies, Tax domain and regulatory framework. Also, the inclusion of
oil and gas statistics, investments made in upstream sector, new
marginal fields policy, gas utilization policy and other topics in the
book makes it a ready reference material to the E&P Companies,
Investors, Financial and Legal experts and all other people in related
fields.
This Comprehensive Reference source would
support well India’s continuing efforts in upstream sector to accelerate
the exploration ventures in the country and abroad.
India’s first reference book on Natural Gas Sector prepared by Infraline Energy Research and Information Services and sponsored by GAIL (India) Limited. This book forms one of the widely published reference materials from its vast repository of data with Infraline. The 2 editions of the book have been published and have received a huge response. Infraline has been mandated by GAIL (India) Limited to come out with year 2006 edition of this book.
